Haiku
by Judith M. Ashley
Bits of our past
Slumbering in taped cartons
Will we seek them out?
***
Them and us again
We are separate from you
Insane illusion
***
Seeking to know now
How real the illusion
Living in ego
***
Lost in mind and thought
Trailing the story of me
Circling the now
***
Childhood. Where now?
All gone, stuck in memories
Life is in the now
***
This burden of mind
Good or Bad? Now is neutral
Be present to life
***
When now is allowed
Without mind interruption
No labels happen
***
No egoic noise
Consciousness itself
I am totally alive
***
Embrace this moment?
Mind says: “Ignorance is bliss.
Don’t look. Don’t look now.”
***
Walk on this sweet earth
No longer as a burden
Beauty without mind
***
This very moment
Space, silence, stillness, peace, now
Timeless dimension
***
Now is eternal
“How can that be possible?”
Ego speaks again
***
The infinite now
Spoken in haiku of joy
Is that now or then?
***
Endless now
Unfolding from pure essence
Without my consent
***
Egoic life view:
One thing after another
Mental illusion
***
Totally present?
“I cannot remember that.”
Little me survives!
***
A reality:
My body is illusion
Aliveness is now
***
Fullness of the now
A field of still presence
Without any thought
***
Lost in mind and thought
Telling my story again
Unconscious to now
***
Cotoneaster
And Pearly Everlasting
Bumblebee’s delight
***
When now is allowed
Without ego’s mental noise
Awareness unfolds
***
In depth of dark night
Easier to write haiku
Forgotten at dawn
***
It oozed from his pores
Jealousy at thirty-six
Resisting her love
